| Event Summary | The termly English subject leader updates aim to support and equip English subject leaders in their role by ensuring that they are up to date with current research and information. | ||||||
| Event description | The termly updates provide an opportunity for leaders to learn about current research, information, practice and events pertinent to the teaching of English across the primary phase. This will inform their own practice and assist them in being an effective subject leader in their schools. The sessions also provide a networking opportunity where delegates can engage in professional dialogue with colleagues sharing ideas, resources and good practice. There are also opportunities for delegates to raise issues they would like to cover during the current session or at a later date. How will the pupils benefit? Through increased awareness of current literacy guidance, subject leaders will be better equipped to support colleagues and further develop the quality of teaching and learning across the school How will the school benefit? English subject leaders will have increased awareness of current guidance and can use this to inform actions and priorities aimed at improving standards in the English across the school. |
